Overview
The 3D animated work is inspired by the scenes depicted by Liu Zongyuan in his text The Little Stone Pond Record. Based on Liu Zongyuan's route and textual descriptions of the Little Stone Pond, I analyzed the spatial relationships described in the text and incorporated Eastern elements such as Chinese gardens, koi fish, and pine trees, blending these with my own imagination.
This resulted in the creation of four virtual scenes: Entering the Bamboo Grove, Admiring the Swimming Fish, Seeking the Source of the Pond, and Sitting by the Pond. By using materials like metal and glass that convey a digital feel, the work aims to recreate the serene and secluded "paradise" described in the classical text, showcasing the unique aesthetic essence of ancient Chinese landscape travel narratives in the digital world.
